Southern Boiler Works manufacture fine quality copper boilers. A family run business
employing 1 full time and 2 part time machinists. All boilers are manufactured
'in house' by Paul Tompkins a time served Toolmaker by trade and life long model
engineer by hobby. We are members of the APCBM (M.E.) and are fully compliant
to the 97/23/EC Cat 2 regulations allowing us to manufacture 71/4” size boilers
up to 200 bar litres. Possibly unique to the copper boiler industry all boilers are supplied with bushes ready tapped including the stud work in the dome, regulator, wet header and fittings etc. Stud work is tapped as small as M2 (8 BA) saving the purchaser the trouble (and risk) of tapping holes in a finished boiler. If space allows 'o' ring grooves are also machined in the bushes. For the competent boiler maker we can supply fully formed boiler kits comprising of flanged plates, rolled and tacked barrel, formed wrappers, rivets for stays, bronze cnc machined bush blanks and other sundry materials. Have a new design in mind? We can design your boiler using CAD and supply the drawings, All boilers are supplied with a photographic record of internal solder penetration by email and you can see your boiler during construction and witness a hydraulic test subject to prior arrangement. |
